1951 National Grand Console Steel. Two 8 string necks in a staggered tier. Original cream and copper finish, totem fretboard decorations under lucite fretboards, cream plastic pickup and headstock covers. The tuners replaced with new 'Kluson' exact replacements, new brass nuts with the original bone ones in the case, otherwise all original. One short crack in a lucite fretboard at screw hole near nut, a few minor finish chips and marks, but nothing of any consequence and in overall super clean condition. It's just been set up with new strings (C6th & E13th), plus a new 15ft. George L's .225 cable with the correct vintage style screw on amphenol connector. Comes in the original brown tolex hardcase. One of my favourite steels, with excellent tone and output from these large National pickups. This steel plays really well, with the new tuners and nuts allowing silky smooth tune ups. A top vintage console steel.
